What you get to do:
As a Security Sergeant, you will lead the Security Team through daily operation of the park on both operating and non-operating hours to ensure a safe atmosphere for our employees and guests. This position will balance Security/Law Enforcement practices with that of safety including medical response procedures, fire prevention, and Incident Management. You will:
Oversee and conduct routine park property patrols for main pathways, back areas, parking lots and buildings both on foot and/or patrol vehicle
Respond to and handle calls or reports of trespassers or attempted trespassing
Ensure all property security and fire alarms as well as cameras are fully operational and functioning
Complete fire prevention system testing on routine basis
Responsible for maintaining clear and concise logs of all nightly activity and inspections, ensure Security staff receives proper breaks and incident reports are completed
Follow and uphold all safety and security procedures at all times
Respond to Safety incidents, contact EMS and/or administer first aid/CPR as needed
Adheres to key control policy and procedures according to the set company standards
Notify appropriate Park leadership of any Security and Safety incidents
Monitor all dispatch responsibilities (i.e radio communication, weather, security systems etc)
Complete independent projects and assignments
Source new initiatives, practices, and technologies to be utilized by the Department
Develop and Train a Team of Officers on Park Policies and Applicable State and Local Laws/Ordinances
Provide guests, employees, and vendors with safe and secure environment
Complete assigned tasks from management as needed

What else is important:
Be at least 18 years of age
Must have a valid driver’s license
High school diploma or GED equivalent required
Minimum of one (1) year security experience within Sesame Place OR two (2) year security, law enforcement, comparable experience
Must be able to obtain handcuff and pepper spray certification
Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs
Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift
Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing)
Perform cleaning duties; including use of cleaning chemicals
Consistently practice safe work habits including the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and reporting unsafe situations
Must be willing to comply with all SEA grooming guidelines and employment standards
Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat
Must provide flexible, consistent availability (including nights, weekends and holidays) and adhere to our Holiday and Availability agreement
Ability to successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements within established timelines
Salary : $33,100 - $41,900
