What are the responsibilities and job description for the Garden Worker / Driver position at SF Gardens?
Gardener position available.
Beginning at 25 hrs per week, Tues-Fri, 11:00-5pm(ish) (potential for more hours after 2-3 months of training). $20/hr ($2 raise at 6 mo $2 raise at 1 year).
We're looking for someone who is dependable and has a good attitude. Attention to detail is necessary, as well as a professional appearance and a relaxed personality. Gardening experience and love for plants is a plus! Must enjoy working in dirt and being around garden critters.
Any irrigation knowledge is a plus!
Job requirements:
Able to do physical labor for at least six hours/day and regularly lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
Working knowledge of basic garden power tools (mower, blower, trimmer) - we mainly use battery operated tools.
The majority of the work is in San Francisco, so it's important that you are comfortable driving, parking, and maneuvering in the city. Clean driving record required.
You'll be provided with a company vehicle, which you'll take home with you. You must have a safe place to park the vehicle. After you've been trained in the gardens you'll often be working solo. This job is best suited for someone who likes working independently. (if you need a lot of human interaction all day, this job is not for you).
We are a small company who has been caring for gardens in the bay area for 16 years. We love to be outside, working with plants! We provide a boutique service for our clients, and we care about our people and the work we do.
