Summary
Underwrite applications to evaluate, classify and rate for all lines of insurance. Assist in training other account underwriters and agents.
Responsibilities
- Examine applications and determine degree of risk.
- Accepts, modify or reject applications.
- Work with field representatives to obtain additional information, quote rates, and explain company underwriting policies.
- Assist in the training of other account underwriters and agents.
- Evaluate the risk and possibility of losses due to catastrophe or excessive coverage.
- Re-write existing policies as needed.
- Visit assigned districts/agencies as requested or required.
- Attend meetings and conduct training programs as needed.
- Participate and complete required continued education courses.
- Maintain a good understanding of all policy contracts.
- Manage consistent work flow to ensure all assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Addresses requests for exceptions to Underwriting guidelines.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business related field or Agriculture.
- 2 to 4 years of related experience.
