What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plumbing Department Manager position at Shafer Heating & Cooling LLC?
Plumbing Department Manager – Lead the Charge. Build the Standard.
This is a leadership role, not a job site detour.
We're not looking for someone to "keep things moving." We're looking for a field general—a leader who inspires plumbers to dominate the craft, drive results, and never lower the standard.
What This Role Is
You're not managing trucks. You're building a culture. You’ll own performance, team development, process, profit—and most of all, customer confidence.
What This Role Is NOT
If you’re looking to coast or hide behind a clipboard, this ain’t it. If you want real responsibility, real autonomy, and real impact—read on.
Your Mission:
- Run the Plumbing Division like you own it. Full accountability, full authority.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top talent—no clingers, no passengers.
- Coach up or coach out—every team member either grows or goes.
- Hit your numbers—efficiency, customer reviews, revenue, profitability.
- Stay in the field—job site audits, team check-ins, in-person accountability.
- Collaborate with other department leaders to build unstoppable momentum.
You Bring:
- 5 years of plumbing experience (residential or commercial).
- 2 years of management or crew leadership.
- Journeyman or Master Plumber license (or the drive to get one).
- Confidence, energy, and a playbook for winning.
- A personal standard that makes other people level up.
We Offer:
- Top industry pay aggressive bonus plans—real recognition for real results.
- Company truck gas card—because you're always in motion.
- Health insurance, 401(k), paid time off—all locked in.
- Weekly leadership coaching—we invest in leaders, not just licenses.
- Culture of excellence—no drama, no excuses, just results and accountability.
Don’t Apply If:
- You avoid confrontation and hard conversations.
- You’re looking for easy hours or low standards.
- You’d rather coast than coach.
Apply If:
- You’re a coach, not just a foreman.
- You have the drive to build a championship team.
- You thrive on ownership, leadership, and competition.
