The rush of expert servers moving theatrically through the room in starched white dress shirts and pressed black bow ties. What You'll Do
- Deliver food orders from the kitchen to guests' tables
- Act as the contact point between Front of the House and Back of the House staff
- Communicate food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g. food allergies)
- Assist Servers with table setting by fetching and placing appropriate tableware, eating utensils and napkins
- Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g. proper temperature)
- Check in with customers and take additional orders or refill water, as needed
- Remove dirty dishes and utensils
- Answer guests’ questions about ingredients and menu items
What You'll Need
- Previous work experience as a serving assistant, food runner, or host in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules
- Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays and stand for long hours
- Multi-tasking abilities
- Good oral communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the entire dining and bar area
- An interest in learning about regional Chinese food and beverage
- Authorization to work in the USA.
