📝 Summary:
The Laundry Attendant is responsible for the efficient and timely processing of hotel linens to ensure a clean, fresh supply for our guests and associates. This includes washing, drying, folding, and storing linens while maintaining laundry area cleanliness and adhering to safety and sanitation standards.
Essential Job Functions:
- Load articles into washers and add specified amounts of detergent, soap, or other cleaning agents.
- Turn valves to fill washers with water and start machines to automatically wash and rinse articles.
- Lift clean, wet articles from washers and place them into dryers for measured time cycles.
- Sort dried articles by identification number or type.
- Fold and store items in appropriate storage bins.
- Iron table linens to quality standards.
- Lubricate machines using grease guns and oilcans as directed.
- Ensure cleanliness of laundry equipment and work area.
- Dissolve soap granules in hot water or steam to create liquid soap as needed.
- Mend torn articles using needle and thread.
- Sort and count articles to verify quantities on laundry lists.
- Pre-soak contaminated articles in neutralizer solutions before washing.
- Mix dyes and bleaches according to formulas, and dye or bleach specified articles as required.
- Follow all safety protocols and comply with Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) regulations when handling chemicals.
- Report to work for scheduled shifts on time, in uniform, and in accordance with company policy.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to this position and its duties.
- Take initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
