8th Grade Social Studies Teacher

Position Title:                                       8th Grade Social Studies Teacher Location:                                              Shapleigh School Reports To:                                          Anne Ellis Position Start Date:                            August 27, 2025 Required Certification:                       Maine Certification in Social Studies 5-8 (200M), Social Studies 7-12 (200S), or certifiable in the State of Maine  Application Deadline:                         Until a suitable candidate is found The Kittery School District is currently seeking a highly qualified, certified Social Studies teacher to join our 8th grade team at Shapleigh School.  The position will start in late August for the 2025-26 school year. The ideal candidate for this position will hold a valid Maine 5-8 or 7-12 certification in Social Studies or be certifiable in the State of Maine, have experience teaching in a Proficiency Based Learning system,  and be able to effectively communicate and collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary teaching team.   Candidates must submit to a Criminal History Record Check through the Maine Department of Education.
