As an Accounting Supervisor, you will be a leader within the Accounting department. The primary responsibilities of this position involve supervising a team of four; ensuring compliance with regulations, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and internal policies and procedures; reviewing month-end reconciliations to confirm accuracy and timeliness.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

· Ensure that all activities of the department are in accordance with GAAP and the accounting records are maintained accurately and in compliance with laws and regulations.

· Maintain a highly motivated, well-trained staff, evaluating the performance of the staff on a regular basis. Resolve employee questions or conflicts.

· Responsible for general ledger reconciliation, analysis of financial accounts, and preparation of journal entries. Facilitate month-end close and produce monthly financial statements.

· Prepare financial information for regulatory reporting (NCUA 5300 Call Report).

· Facilitate regulatory examinations and annual CPA audits.

· Conduct special accounting studies, analyses, and special projects as requested by management.

Qualifications:

· Minimum 2-4 years of related experience, preferably within a credit union or community bank .

· A 4-year college degree in accounting, finance, or related field.

· Accurate completion of responsibilities with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

· Excellent communication skills: phone, verbal, and written.

· Strong abilities in problem solving, researching, and decision-making.

· A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required.

· Able to accept and facilitate change.

· Keyboarding skills and proficiency in Word/Excel/Outlook, plus the ability to learn new software applications.

· Experience with External Funds Transfer (EFT) a plus

· This position requires operation of a PC and viewing information on a monitor. Must be able to sit for many hours each day. Must be able to communicate via telephone and possess dexterity to include filing, reaching, and bending.
