Part of Strategic Sales and Analytics organization, the Category Analyst plays a critical role, in working with their Category Manager, focusing on the health of a category and if we’re set up to win. This role will be responsible for crafting compelling sell-in stories, serve as the expert on POS performance, market trends, competitors’ performance and future market projections. The Category Analyst works directly with sales to ensure every item is winning and set up to win versus its benchmark. This is an excellent position for a highly motivated, team member who likes to work in a fast-paced environment and data driven atmosphere.

Job Description: Category Analyst

Lists:
- Drive actionable reporting to drive winning at each subcategory. Serve as the category expert internally, generating and presenting actionable insights on pricing, promotional impacts, positioning, competitive landscape and market needs to develop comprehensive strategies.
- Manage delivery of daily, weekly, monthly deliverables reporting on the health of the business
- Identify category gaps/opportunities, craft sales stories with strategic recommendations that differentiate Shark from competitors, helping to increase distribution, space and displays.
- Build partnerships, both internal and external facing, with customer service mindset
- Ability to drive objective analytics
- Innate curiosity and desire to find creative solutions
- Act as the voice of the market and category
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 2 years of relevant work experience within category management or sales analysis
- Experience working for consumer goods company preferred
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and detail oriented, ensuring deadlines are met
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to present and calibrate on critical challenges to internal and external partners
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience pulling and analyzing syndicated data (IRI, Nielsen, NPD, GFK, etc)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel/ Office skills
