We are seeking a Principal, Product Development to serve as a strategic leader within the organization, driving high-value initiatives, mentoring product leaders, and influencing category direction with a long-term vision for innovation and market leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Category Leadership & Strategic Vision
- Own the end-to-end product development lifecycle for high-impact, high-priority product lines—driving concept development, product definition, execution, and post-launch performance.
- Serve as the strategic thought partner to business unit and engineering leadership in shaping multi-year category roadmaps and identifying whitespace opportunities and technology roadmaps.
- Lead category-level strategic planning, aligning cross-functional resources and priorities to deliver breakthrough innovation and business results.
- Operate as a senior leader and trusted cross-functional partner across engineering, industrial design, insights, operations, and marketing to ensure all elements of the product experience are deeply aligned with consumer expectations.
- Set and communicate clear, consumer-driven performance and experience targets to ensure excellence in both functionality and emotional connection.
- Lead critical “breakthrough” initiatives and enterprise-level projects that are high in visibility, complexity, and impact, with direct exposure to SharkNinja’s executive leadership team.
- Champion product cost structure optimization and go-to-market alignment by partnering with sourcing, finance, and merchandising teams to ensure sustained profitability and growth.
- Serve as a mentor and thought leader to other product managers and leaders, guiding their development and ensuring executional excellence across the team.
- Contribute to the evolution of SharkNinja’s product development frameworks and best practices, elevating product quality and process efficiency across the organization.
- Partner with the Insights & Intelligence team to develop a deep, data-driven understanding of the consumer; synthesize qualitative and quantitative feedback into product strategy and iterative refinement.
- Drive innovation by identifying technology integrations, unmet user needs, and competitive differentiators that set our products apart in the market.
- Provide executive-level oversight of go-to-market strategies and launch materials—including instructional content, feature education, and post-purchase support.
- Act as the internal and external subject matter expert (SME) for your category, providing insight, guidance, and problem-solving at every stage of the product lifecycle.
- 8 years of experience in product development, product marketing, or consumer innovation—ideally in a high-growth, consumer-focused company.
- A proven track record of leading successful product launches, building category strategies, and delivering measurable business results.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring and influencing teams across functions, with or without direct reporting lines.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Deep consumer empathy and an instinct for translating insights into actionable, compelling product strategies.
- Strong executive communication skills with the ability to craft compelling narratives, drive alignment, and present to senior leadership.
- A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset—adept at navigating ambiguity, driving clarity, and building consensus in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
