Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform a variety of multi-craft duties involved in equipment, facilities and repair and provide
direction and assistance to department personnel. Responsible for maintaining all aspects and
related tasks for plant equipment in “E-Maintenance” program.
DUTIES:
• Work from preventative maintenance schedules, work orders, specifications, blueprints, schematics and written/verbal instructions from supervisor.
• Receive work orders and review priorities with supervisor. Assign projects to appropriate personnel, review requirements and respond to questions. Travel to other facilities to assist with maintenance related duties.
• Respond to emergency situations and equipment problems, troubleshoot problem and take corrective action, using trade skills to minimize equipment down time. Build or recommend for purchase, replacement parts as required. Respond to plant emergencies, function as a member of the emergency response team and follow emergency guideline procedures.
• Oversee the location of new equipment and assemble machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation. Discuss equipment improvements with engineering personnel and supervisor. Implement approved suggestions.
• Monitor preventative maintenance program and ensure work is completed in a satisfactory and timely manner.
• Contribute suggestions for improving department productivity and efficiency. Discuss department employee’s performance and make recommendations to supervisor regarding hiring, disciplinary actions and wage adjustments. Ensure employees are trained in all aspects of their jobs.
• Prepare and maintain records of work performed or other data, reports as required. Maintain established quality and quantity standards. Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to supervision. Ensure work area (s) and equipment are maintained in a clean, orderly and safe condition, that prescribed safety measures are followed, that established company and department policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to.

Requirements
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
• High school graduate or equivalent. Trade School or Technical School strongly preferred.
• Minimum of five years industrial maintenance experience.
• Communicate with management and other personnel and train others.
• Knowledge of various machine shop techniques such as turning, milling, drilling, tapping, etc.
• Good problem solver.
• Able to read simple blueprints Self-starter Previous experience as a team leader or other experience showing demonstrated leadership skills preferred.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
• Must follow safety guidelines for machine shop and machine shop processes (such as welding).
• Follow lock-out, tag-out procedures.
• Must adhere to all safety guidelines in operating the fork truck or other motorized equipment.
• Must attend and pass Forklift Operation, Electrical Training and all other safety trainings as designated.
