Oncology Registered Nurse
We are seeking an Oncology Registered Nurse to join our Oncology team in Naperville, IL.
Pay: $34 to $55 an hour plus benefits.
Shift: 7:00am to 7:00pm with rotating weekends.
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse specializing in Oncology to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care to individuals diagnosed with cancer. Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for oncology patients.
- Administer chemotherapy and other medications as prescribed while monitoring for side effects.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, side effects, and coping strategies.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with ICD-10 standards and documentation protocols.
- Provide support for family planning discussions and palliative care options when necessary.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes in oncology care.
- Stay current with advancements in oncology nursing practices and participate in ongoing education.
Experience
- A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
- Previous experience in oncology nursing or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with critical care transport protocols is advantageous.
- Experience in hospice palliative medicine or long-term care settings is a plus.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory; additional certifications related to oncology are desirable.
- Experience working in a teaching hospital environment is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams are essential.
