Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing excellent patient service within our facility, which includes both inpatient and outpatient care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to assist in various medical procedures across different specialties, including internal medicine and dermatology.
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Administer medications as directed by physicians, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including medical history and medication administration.
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and performing preliminary assessments.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care plans and follow-up instructions.
- Support the daily operations of the clinic or hospital setting, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in a Level II Trauma Center to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients on health maintenance and disease prevention as needed.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to various specialties, including internal medicine and dermatology.
- Experience in a hospital or clinical setting is an advantage, particularly with inpatient and outpatient services.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide exceptional patient service.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent is desirable but not mandatory.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies within the healthcare field.
