Position Summary
Works under general supervision to determine and perform the type of decorative work necessary on buildings and appurtenances of County buildings.
Pay Grade: 51H Minimum Qualifications
100.00% - 1. Five (5) years of experience as a painter; and
2. High school diploma or possess a GED or trade school with a certificate/diploma in painting;
3. PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED. Duties and Responsibilities
1. Responsible for basic preparatory procedures that are needed before paint is applied to the building.
2. Decide what type of paint should be used on walls, ceilings, wood trim, acoustical material, plaster, concrete or sheet rock.
3. Supervise and direct all refinishing and decorative work.
4. Determine the required quantity and quality of all necessary materials.
5. Cut stencils to specified sized for signs.
6. Maintain records and makes reports.
7. Perform other related duties as assigned or directed. KSA's
KSAs - 1. Knowledge of up to date painting procedures, equipment and inventories.
2. Ability to mix and match paints and use tools and materials to produce a neat appearance.
3. Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with other employees. Special Requirements
1. Must possess a valid Tennessee driver"s license or secure one by date of employment.
2. Will be required to drive to multiple Shelby County facilities.
