The Charter Township of Shelby Supervisor's Office seeks an intern to work Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:30 am - 5 pm. The hourly rate of pay for this position is $13.59, no benefits. Qualified candidates must be enrolled in college in order to be considered for this position.
Applicants must have excellent communication skills and demonstrate an ability to adjust to fast-paced changes in deadlines and project demands while understanding the importance of customer service. Interns will be given opportunities to attend meetings, tour facilities, and attend events for personal development.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with monitoring all forms of local and regional media
- Search for press clippings
- Assist with writing press releases and other materials
- Answering phone calls
- Assist with mailings
- Print production
- Create or update databases
- Greet guests and residents
- Data-driven Research
- Filing
- Special projects

Requirements are:
- Current college student
- Major in Political Science, Public Administration, Media and Politics, Community/Public Relations, Communication and Persuasion, Organizational Leadership, or a related field
- Available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 am - 5 pm
