Description

Position Overview 

Shelter House is a community of residents, staff and volunteers working together to provide basic human services for the men and women of the Greater Cincinnati area who are experiencing homelessness. The Community Receptionist is responsible for being the face of Shelterhouse which includes greeting guests, handling inquiries, setting meetings and managing various office duties.   

Essential Job Duties 

  • Answer calls promptly 

  • Relay incoming and interoffice calls 

  • Assists clients in all programs (HOPWA, RRH, HIPP) during their stay at the shelter, helping to connect them to resources as needed. 

  • Greet all visitors/clients and direct them to the correct office when necessary 

  • Accept and sign for packages 

  • Must keep reception area clear of congregating at all times 

  • Maintain an organized and sanitary workspace 

  • Relay all resident messages to the appropriate supervisor 

  • Run reports in VESTA per request 

  • Post daily activities through Yammer network 

  • Manage the queue in VESTA 

  • Update day calendars for both clients and staff 

  • Assist with donations 

  • Assist Shelterhouse Management or Executive Team, as requested 

  • Sort, stamp and distribute mail, when needed 

  • Schedules appointments for clients with their Case Managers by client request 

Qualifications


Qualifications & Requirements 

  • High School Diploma is required  

  • 1 Years of related Customer Service 

  • 1 year of receptionist experience 

Skills & Abilities 

  • Must be reliable and punctual 

  • Must present a warm, welcoming and professional demeanor with staff, clients and the outside community 

  • Must have strong verbal, written and time management skills 

  • Must have the ability to multi-task and problem solve 

  • Must be able to navigate a multi-line phone system 

  • Ability to work in Office 365 

  • Must be able to work weekends, nights and holidays as scheduled
