Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the accurate preparation of the assigned international portion of the U.S. Income Tax Return Form 1120 including Form 5471, 8858, 8865, related elections and supporting schedules. This responsibility includes calculation and analysis of the U.S. tax basis earnings and profits (E&P) and related tax pools of controlled foreign corporations.
- Assisting with the preparation, analysis, and review of the income tax provision as it relates to international taxes for assigned subsidiaries.
- Maintaining a calendar of due dates for international tax compliance and reporting tasks.
- Assisting with development and execution of complex tax planning strategies.
- Collaborating with cross-functional groups within the Company and with external consultants as needed to solve tax related issues.
- Prepare all Puerto Rick tax returns which include both Direct and Indirect filings.
- Prepare all Caribbean tax returns which include both Direct and Indirect filings.
- Prepare all Canadian tax returns which include both Direct and Indirect filings.
- Assist with Canadian payroll tax compliance.
- Assist Tax management with preparation and review of Foreign Tax Credit (Form 1118)
- Assist Tax management with preparation and review of TCJA calculations: GILTI, FDII and BEAT.
- Assist with Domestic Tax compliance as needed.
- Assist with CorpTax entity setup and maintenance.
- Assist the International Tax Manager with moderately complex tax planning projects as needed.
Position Requirements:
Education
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree in Accounting, Tax or Finance
Technical/Skill
Required:
- Understanding of international direct and indirect tax concepts.
- Keeps up with current developments in tax and can understand and communicate how those developments impact the company.
- Strong MS Excel skills.
- Ability to identify issues and complete assigned tasks, balancing and prioritizing competing deadlines.
- Exhibits strong inter-personal skills, positive attitude, and emphasis on working as a team to achieve common objectives.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Willing to take personal ownership over assigned tasks and identify opportunities to go beyond the assigned task to add value.
- Eager to learn about the Company and the Paint industry to provide more valuable insights to the Company.
Preferred:
- Experience using the Tax systems: CorpTax, Hyland Software (OnBase), Oracle.
