Employment Opportunity: Sherwood Middle School POSITION: School Psychologist Available Immediately Shrewsbury Public Schools is currently accepting applications for a School Psychologist for Sherwood Middle School, effective immediately. Sherwood Middle School is a beautiful grades 5 & 6 school in central Massachusetts. Shrewsbury Public Schools welcomes your interest in the role. The school psychologist is part of the interdisciplinary team providing support to students in regular education and special education. The school psychologist will conduct initial evaluations and re-evaluations of students who have been referred or who receive special education services. The school psychologist is responsible for submitting formal evaluation reports and sharing these results at IEP meetings. The school psychologist will provide specially designed instruction to improve mental and behavioral health, as part of regular and special education services, and will also provide consultation to classroom teachers and to the Student Support Team. The school psychologist plays an essential role in supporting structured general education interventions and progress monitoring. The school psychologist meets individually with students as needed and reports progress on IEP goals and objectives related to their services. School Psychologists help develop IEP plans and goals for students based on need and determination of services by the team. They provide direct individual or group services to students based on the individual plan and goals developed, as well as provide consultative services to school staff and/or parents when appropriate. The School Psychologist will support social emotional learning for all students and focus as a school liaison to out-of-school service providers, including pediatricians, psychologist, counselors, etc. The School Psychologist will provide emergency, grief, and crisis counseling support as needed for all students and will communicate and collaborate with families to build/strengthen partnerships between home and school. Preferred: •Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license as a School Psychologist, All Levels •Master’s level or higher in the appropriate area •Strong knowledge of early middle school student needs and programming •Background in crisis prevention and intervention management •Exhibits the core values of Shrewsbury Public Schools •Works flexibly in a changing environment Application Process: Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, resume, official or unofficial copies of undergraduate/graduate transcripts, license # or unofficial copy of license if applicable, and three current professional letters of reference, including one from a direct supervisor, professor, or evaluator.
