What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at Shinola?
Overview:
The shipping and receiving clerk is responsible for overseeing and processing all inbound and outbound shipments within the Factory.
Responsibilities:
- Unload, count, verify and receive product.
- Report any damages, or shipment discrepancies to the Shipping Supervisor.
- Verifies accuracy of material before processing.
- Process return to sender packages.
- Perform cycle counts for raw material.
- Pack and ship all outbound material.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and guidelines.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent experience
- Sense of urgency and self-motivation; ability to work independently
- Ability to work cross functionally within a team
- Willingness to learn new computer programs and to become proficient in using RF devices
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic math and organization skills
- Previous receiving and shipping experience
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to lift up 30-50 lbs
- Able to stand for long periods of time
Rate of Pay: $15
Employment Type: Temporary with eligibility for Full-Time employment with benefits after 90 days.
