SHIP8, Inc. is hiring a Human Resources Specialist to support our 3PL warehouse operations in Woodland, California. This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys being the go-to person for employee support, compliance, and process improvement. The HR Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring consistency, compliance, and operational efficiency across HR service areas including employee relations, benefits, leave management, onboarding/offboarding, HRIS administration, regulatory compliance, and policy interpretation. This position requires discretion, initiative, problem solving and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization with limited supervision. You'll work independently on-site while collaborating with a remote HR Director and cross-functional teams.
What You’ll Do:
- Serve as the local HR point of contact for approximately 50 employees
- Handle employee relations, workplace investigations, and HR policy enforcement
- Manage leaves of absence (FMLA, CFRA, PFL, Workers' Comp, etc.)
- Coordinate recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding processes
- Maintain employee records and support payroll changes using ADP WorkforceNow
- Support benefits administration and open enrollment
- Ensure compliance with California labor laws and OSHA requirements
- Administer HR training and assist with Safety training
- Help plan HR-driven engagement events and employee recognition initiatives
What We’re Looking For:
- 2 years of HR experience, ideally in a warehouse, 3PL, or logistics setting
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent HR experience will be considered
- Strong knowledge of California labor laws
- Experience using ADP WorkforceNow preferred
- Professional, approachable, and highly organized
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a requirement (written and verbal)
