Fabricator/Fitter

Shipley Tractor and Machine specializes in building high-performance pulling tractors. We are seeking a skilled Fabricator/Fitter to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have experience in metal fabrication, welding, and assembly, with a passion for working on high performance pulling tractors. As a Fabricator/Fitter, you will play a critical role in the construction and modification of custom pulling tractors. A great worker will be detail-oriented, reliable, and proactive in delivering quality craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fabrication & Welding: Cut, weld, and assemble metal parts and components for pulling tractors using a variety of welding techniques (MIG, TIG).
• Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to accurately fabricate and fit tractor parts.
• Assembly: Assemble and install mechanical systems, frames, engines, and drivetrain components into the tractors.
• Quality Control: Ensure that all parts and assemblies meet the required specifications and quality standards.
• Tool & Equipment Maintenance: Maintain, repair, and operate machinery and tools in the fabrication shop, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve fabrication and assembly issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to meet project deadlines and specifications.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Fabricator, Fitter, and working with Sheet Metal components.
• Strong welding skills (MIG, TIG).
• Experience with hand and power tools, as well as machine shop equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in a fabrication shop environment.
