Description
Our company is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Utility Field Services Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting our Land Surveying market in working with trade partners to ensure the proper placement and assist with organizing utility locates to avoid utility conflicts, hits, and delays on a data center site.
- On-site support of construction by understanding utility locations.
- On-site communication with contractors and stakeholders to document location of installed utilities.
- On-site communication with contractors to accurately mark utility locations from provided information which may be impacted by excavation.
- Ability to organize and lead on-site meetings with stakeholders and partners to discuss underground utility locations.
- Serve as a virtual extension of the General Contractors Project Team, establishing a close relationship with the General Contractor to understand project requirements, goals, and constraints.
- Meet with onsite trade partners daily to coordinate utility conflicts, coordination, and locates.
- Bring best practices and innovative experience to facilitate efficiencies in design, construction, and operational transition processes.
- Comply with the General Contractors standards for quality, cost structure, and on-time delivery.
- Assist in maintaining project-level schedule in line with the General Contractors requirements.
- Coordinate with the design team to meet the client’s design guidelines and standards.
- Track project progress against goals, objectives, approved budgets, and approved timelines, and create action plans to meet objectives.
- Coordinate with on-site survey crews to locate and mark out utilities as needed.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to do hydro-excavations as needed.
- This position may require overtime and work in adverse conditions.
Requirements
- 5 years of construction management or general contractor experience, preferred but not required.
- 5 years of mission-critical/data center construction management experience, preferred but not required.
- Must be punctual, organized, highly motivated, and able to work along and well with others.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial construction design.
- Strong organization, planning, and project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence decisions through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and presentation of options.
- Ability to work with diverse cross-functional teams and present findings to senior management.
