What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate position at Shively Bros. Inc?
We are looking for someone to join our team as a Warehouse Associate. In this role, you will ensure a safe working environment, manage outgoing and incoming shipments, and maintain accurate cycle counts and material handling. Responsibilities:
- Receive shipments, verify correct quantities to shipping documents
- Accurately record shipment information in the company system
- Report shipment discrepancies and issues to the Customer Service Manager
- Accurately fill orders using shelf inventory and safely package materials for shipping
- Utilize third-party logistics software to generate shipments
- Safely operate a forklift, pallet jack, and hand carts to move materials
- Appropriately store materials in the correct warehouse locations
- Perform inventory counts, identify, and record discrepancies
- Work with internal departments to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- 1-3 years of experience in warehousing, shipping, or receiving
- Understanding inventory management is desirable
- Able to work with little to no supervision to complete assigned tasks
- Good written and oral communication skills and excellent organizational skills
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods
- Comply with all safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment, including always wearing the proper PPE, safely handling materials, tools, and chemicals, and reporting unsafe work conditions or equipment immediately
- Successfully pass the required pre-employment background check and drug screen
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.50 per hour
