What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rental Coordinator position at Shoppas Material Handling Ltd?
The Rental Coordinator will be responsible for assigning and scheduling rental equipment to maximize utilization and profitability, while ensuring the job’s expectations are consistently and satisfactorily met. Will process rental equipment orders, delivery and pickup of rental equipment to and from customers. Transferring equipment to all branches of the company for up most utilization. Will submit and process rental billing daily. This opportunity represents Shoppa’s Material Handling and requires professionalism, strong communication skills, attention to detail, great attitude and outstanding customer service.
Essential Functions:
- Assigns and schedules rental equipment to maximize utilization and profitability, while ensuring the job’s expectations are consistently and satisfactorily met
- Receives incoming customer calls requesting equipment rentals, availability and quote rates
- Solicits new rental business via outbound phone calls
- Follows established procedures for equipment rentals with the ERP system
- Schedules pickup and delivery of rental equipment to and from our customers
- Assists the various branches transferring rental equipment
- Work with the lead shop supervisors to schedule rental ready equipment and service work
- Maintain an active rental list of equipment availability, ensuring units are checked in and out daily
- Process rental invoices and various special billing
- Communicates all potential/lost rents to the Rental Manager
- Follow up with customer to ensure on time delivery and equipment condition
- Understand and stay current with the company products, policies and procedures
- All other duties and special projects as assigned.
Physical Job Demands:
- Sit for extended periods of time; computer, telephone, and other office equipment such as copier, fax machine, scanner, etc. Will also require bending, stooping and climbing
High School Diploma required; preferably a college degree. 2-3 years’ experience in rental industry, sales or a customer service environment; equipment rental industry or material handling experience preferred. Strong telephone skills along with written and verbal communication. Be able to communicate and articulate orders with customers. MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Intermediate level
Special Skills Needed:
- Positive attitude and well-groomed appearance required. MUST be a team player and can work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent customer service follow-up/resolution skills, organized and energetic. Solid communication skills, both verbal and written. Heavy phone experience required.
