Job Title: PowerSchool State Reporting Specialist/IT Assistant (SIS Technician)
Position Summary: This position requires the skills to identify, install, operate, update, and maintain various computer-based applications for the District. The person in this position will be the primary contact for support for the student information system (SIS) for all district staff. In addition, this person will coordinate with district staff, district administrators, and the Arizona Department of Education with regard to electronic submission and reporting of student data (SAIS).
Qualifications: Prefer IT college or University graduate (AA or BS) or equivalent experience. Exceptional skills are required in software applications, particularly database and spreadsheet applications.
Terms of employment: Salary and work schedule are to be established by the District Superintendent and School Board.
Evaluation: The performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the IT Director in collaboration with the Director of ADM.
Organizational Relationships: Directly responsible to the IT Director. Will work closely with the Director of ADM and other administrative team (i.e. Directors, Principals, etc.) and staff to some degree.
Job Goal: Ensure proper student information is entered into PowerSchool and accurate information is reported to ADE.
Essential Functions:
- Install and maintain SIS software
- Maintain current standards related to SAIS and SIS software
- Instruct district employees in the operation of SIS software
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to SAIS and SIS and recommend/implement solutions where possible
- Ensure the work environment complies with health and safety standards
- Includes general maintenance and repair on workable computers, software, and other technology equipment, etc.
- Other duties as described by the Superintendent and/or Information Systems Director
- Install and support SIS software and other district software applications
- Train and support staff with regard to SAIS and SIS software
- Monitor student-related data to ensure accuracy and validity
- Maintain working knowledge and skills to perform duties
- Troubleshoot general technology issues
- Other technology-related duties as assigned
