Job Overview
Shri Hotels is seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager to lead our Marriott branded property in Smithfield, NC. The General Manager will be responsible for the overall success of the hotel, ensuring operational excellence, guest satisfaction, employee engagement, and profitability. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of hotel operations, brand standards, and financial performance, with the ability to lead and inspire a diverse team.
Key Responsibilities
Hotel Operations and Leadership
- Oversee daily hotel operations, ensuring compliance with all brand standards and company policies.
- Lead, mentor, and manage all hotel department heads and staff to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Ensure effective scheduling, staffing, and training to maintain optimal service levels.
Financial Management
- Manage the hotel’s financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and revenue management.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR, and implement strategies for improvement.
- Work with the revenue and sales teams to optimize pricing, promotions, and sales initiatives.
Guest Experience
- Drive a culture of service excellence by maintaining high standards of guest satisfaction.
- Review guest feedback and implement action plans to continuously improve service scores and brand metrics.
- Serve as the property’s ambassador to guests, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Sales and Community Engagement
- Build relationships with local businesses, tourism boards, and corporate accounts to generate new business opportunities.
- Participate in local networking and community events to increase the property’s visibility and reputation.
- Support direct sales efforts and be involved in the negotiation of group and corporate accounts as needed.
Brand Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Ensure strict adherence to brand requirements and participate in internal and external audits.
- Maintain the physical asset by managing preventative maintenance programs and capital improvement needs.
- Partner with the corporate team on renovation or PIP initiatives as applicable.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a General Manager or in a senior hotel operations role.
- Direct experience managing a Marriott-branded hotel strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to drive performance on key Marriott metrics including GSS (Guest Satisfaction Scores), Brand Standard Audit (BSA), RevPAR Index (RGI), and QA compliance.
- Strong leadership skills with a hands-on, results-oriented management style.
- Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and property management systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
