Summary
A strong knowledge of connecting electrical fittings, soldering, running electrical wiring and perform all physical tasks associated with modifying vehicles for the acceptance of emergency-related equipment and lighting.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment
- Basic knowledge of 12-volt electrical systems, able to interpret and follow basic installation instructions, wiring diagrams, and specifications to properly install 12-volt equipment.
- Utilize handheld tools such as a handheld screw and drill gun
- Perform quality work checks to ensure that the product meets quality standards
- Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
- Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe work area

Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-2 years relevant work experience
- Must have a valid drivers license and able to operate all class C vehicles

The employee is required to stand and walk over 95% of work time. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Agility to bend to floor-level shelves and reach upper shelves (eight feet) with use of stool or ladder when necessary.
