Summary
Greet and assist guests at ski lift access points, outdoors on snow. Check legitimacy of guest’s tickets through RFID access gates, assist guests through the line/queue pre-boarding of lift, and assist lift operators with lift access maintenance. As a customer focused organization, a crucial part of each employee’s job is to get and keep guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Greets guests at lift access points and initiates the conversation, answering questions that guests may have pertaining to the services of the mountain and local area.
- Check legitimacy of guest’s ticket by means of RFID access gates.
- Understand and recognize the many types of products that can be scanned at the RFID lift access points.
- Maintain and control a convenient flow of movement for our guest in line/queue.
- Assemble/Disassemble lift mazes, RFID access gates, trash reciprocals and appropriate signage at the top/bottom of each lift terminal.
- Resolve face-to-face guest discrepancies.
- Directs guests to the appropriate areas including, but not limited to, ticket windows, restaurants, rentals, restrooms, phone, water fountain, etc.
- Provides awareness to guests about the responsibility code.
- Contribute to team effort by participating in Job Sharing, assuming responsibility for the cleanliness of the resort and safety of guests and employees;
- Participating in safety meetings; accepting diverse assignments; maintain a positive and friendly attitude and demeanor in all internal and external guest interactions.
- Meet guest, employee, safety, and financial objectives and department goals as set forth by immediate supervisor.
- Flexible working hours.
Responsibilities to Safety
- Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort guests at all times.
- Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
- Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.
- Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures.
- Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.) not required but desired; Experience with guest/customer/public interaction not required but desired. Experience and comfortableness with electronic devices. Experience with skiing or snowboarding not required but desired.
Language Skills
Confident verbal skills. Ability to converse comfortably and clearly with many different types of people, and deal with guests in a courteous and efficient manner. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and also large group situations to customers, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
