Job Brief
Under general supervision, maintains, diagnoses, and repairs electrical, instrumentation, and automation equipment. As an Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for Maintaining Frac, Coil Tubing, Cement, Trucks, Blenders, pumps and perform electronic and mechanical preventive maintenance tasks both in the field and shop.
Responsibilities
- Under direction develop skills and knowledge to repair and maintain product line equipment according to company quality and safety standards.
- Comply with all governmental regulations, industry standards and observes all health, safety and environmental policies to reduce environmental impacts.
- Repair product line equipment according to company standards, under direction.
- Perform daily maintenance on company equipment, under direction.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and lubrication on selected items of auxiliary equipment.
- Develop skills and knowledge to support product line services, including basic welding, cutting, grinding, and drilling, and basic understanding of company air, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Learn to maintain tools, shop, and equipment in good condition and keep shop and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Participate in job risk analysis and continual improvement programs.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the electrical field, three of which must be in the construction/commissioning of oil and gas or petrochemical facilities.
- High School Diploma required.
- Ability to read and understand P&ID’s, Loop Drawings, Electrical One Line Drawings, schematics, isometrics, instrument data sheets, and Logic Drawings.
- Skilled in the use of all test equipment required during Static and Dynamic Commissioning activities.
- Ability to troubleshoot, maintain and service electrical distributing systems, motors, generators, rheostats, control panels, switchgear, voltage regulators, rectifiers, electronic equipment, transformers, meters and automation equipment and controls in liaison with other departments to ensure continuity of safe operations.
- Ability to install, repair, calibrate, test and maintain electronic, pneumatic or mechanical control equipment.
- Good communication skills with a broad cross section of personnel, inclusive of clients, operations, maintenance, engineering, safety, sub-contractors, vendors and coworkers.
- Valid Drivers License and Clean Driving Record
- Proficient in the English language.
Working Conditions
This job is performed in a non-environmentally controlled shop. If it’s hot outside, it is hot inside. You will be required to stand and walk for long periods of time. Work weekends and 10 plus hour days when required.
