The Process Technician, reporting to the Senior Process Engineer within the Engineering department, plays a vital role in supporting and optimizing manufacturing processes. This hands-on position is responsible for equipment program design, operator training, process troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. The technician will work closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to enhance equipment performance, resolve technical challenges, and ensure adherence to quality and industry standards.
Responsibilities & Duties Include:
- Process Support
- Design and implementation of programs for equipment in assigned areas of expertise
- Training and ongoing technical support for operators to enhance proficiency and optimize performance
- Collaborate with operators to troubleshoot and resolve equipment-related challenges during operation
- Support for production teams in resolving product-related challenges and have direct communication with customers when required
- Revise and update assembly documentation as required to facilitate continuous process optimization and improvement
- Coordination with equipment manufacturers to address technical issues and facilitate effective solutions as necessary
- Collaboration with the Maintenance team to execute a range of equipment maintenance tasks
- Monitor and report status of departmental goals in line with company vision
- Assist with implementation of new equipment and/or processes related to assigned areas of expertise
- Analysis of process data for the purposes of developing achievable process improvement goals and providing recommendations for continuous improvement projects
- Maintenance of processes for compliance with SFE and customer quality systems, industry standards, and best practices
- Application of creative problem-solving methods for processes and product related issues
- Corrective action investigation and resolution related to areas of expertise
- Systems
- Use of various software tools for root cause and trend analysis of various issues
- Create and maintain QMS procedures related to assigned areas of expertise
- Complete various work orders and equipment repair orders within Maintenance tracking software
- General
- Apply continuous improvement principles and actively seek opportunities to reduce waste and optimize processes
- Follow safety, ESD, and general shopfloor guidelines when performing tasks
Minimum Qualifications:
1 year of relevant experience
Ability to work as part of a team
Proficient with data analysis and root cause problem-solving
Experience interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions, processes, and assembly specifications
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities
Working knowledge of applicable standards (e.g. J-STD-001, AS9100, NADCAP)

Familiarity with problem solving techniques

Preferred Qualifications:
Educational background in an engineering-related discipline
3 years previous electronics assembly experience
SMT and PTH soldering expertise
Experience with reading equipment schematics
Demonstrated record of process improvements and defect reduction activities
