Position Overview

The Advancement Associate will provide administrative support to the Chief Donor Advisor and the Advancement Office, with an emphasis on Alumni Relations.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Administrative:
    • Assist in the coordination of the CDA’s schedule
    • Assist in the preparation of meeting materials, sending calendar invites
    • Prepare minutes from Committee meetings
    • Provide day-to-day support by drafting emails and letters, scheduling lunches
    • Managing school-wide announcements, pushpages, and other communication utilizing the school’s website (INTLnet)
    • Managing New Donor Interface
    • Support the Chief Donor Advisor in the Capital Campaign, to prepare material, and some donor research
    • Other duties as assigned
  • Capital Campaign
    • Prepare written communication for alumni and potential donors
    • Coordinate with event manager for specific alumni and capital campaign events
  • Alumni Relations
    • Act as primary alumni contact and respond to all inquiries/requests from alumni and alumni families
    • Populate information/content/photos on social media and websites
    • Engage with current students to familiarize and promote alumni program
    • Work with Chief Donor Advisor to produce alumni content for email blasts, e-newsletter, blogs, and print newsletters
    • Keep detailed, meticulous records of alumni contacts, attendance at events, volunteering, and news about their life and accomplishments
    • Search/find contact information for “lost” alumni
    • Record and promote alumni activities and accomplishments both internally and externally

Position Qualifications/Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in English, literature, cultural studies, liberal arts, etc., or equivalent work or life experience.
    • Exceptional written and oral communications skills in English.
    • Can effectively work in a diverse, multicultural environment.
    • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
    • Must be able to adapt to changing priorities, tools, and demands.
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
    • Can work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and accurately.
    • Strong typing skills preferred.
    • Some local travel, reliable vehicle necessary, along with valid California Driver's License
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
    • Occasional evening/weekend work required
    • Ability to work overtime
This is a permanent, non-exempt position with full benefits and generous PTO. Salary is based on skill set and years of experience; the salary range is $65,000.00 to $85,000.00.
