Position Summary:
The Customer Service Representative fields external customer questions, complaints, and shipment tracking inquiries while demonstrating the highest degree of courtesy, integrity, and professionalism to resolve customer issues via phone and email communication.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Answer incoming customer calls and provide detail information.
Consistently monitor e-mail requests and provide detailed information in a timely manner.
Notify customers of freight availability.
Generate quotes based on tariff rates, locations, and type of service request.
Data entry of shipment alerts.
Maintain and process paperwork as outlined in the operations procedures.
Prepare in-bound and outbound documentation.
Collaborate with members of other teams to ensure accurate customer billing.
Other duties as assigned.
Regular and dependable attendance.
The ideal candidate will have:
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with G-Suite (Gmail). Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to perform general administrative duties; file, data entry, photocopies, etc.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and carry out assignments to their completion and meet deadlines.
Ability to present and maintain a positive company image in a fast paced environment.
Ability to handle heavy work load and work well under pressure.
Ability to proactively establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and managers.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Minimum one (1) year experience in a similar or customer facing role.
A can do attitude with a will do work ethic.
Desire for career growth with the opportunity for advancement.
Understanding of industry documents (bill of lading, master air way bills, tsa forms, etc) is a plus.
Transportation industry knowledge and experience is a plus.
Experience with Crown Data Systems (CDS) is a plus.
