Silverseal is seeking a highly trained and vigilant Armed Security Officer to join our security team. The Armed Security Officer will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the assigned premises, including property, personnel, and assets. This role will patrol, observe, and report any suspicious activity or potential threats, and, if necessary, intervene to protect the site using force when required. A strong sense of professionalism, responsibility, and adherence to safety procedures is essential for this role.
This position is a 1099 independent contractor role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide armed security services to the assigned site or facility, ensuring the safety of employees, visitors, and property.
- Maintain physical readiness and remain vigilant to detect potential security threats.
- Conduct routine patrols of the premises, including buildings and surrounding areas.
- Enforce site-specific security protocols, access control procedures, and emergency response plans.
- Respond to security breaches or emergency situations, including but not limited to unauthorized entry, medical emergencies, fires, and threats of violence.
- Carry and properly maintain authorized weapons, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Write detailed and accurate reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations.
- Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency responders in the event of critical incidents.
- Assist with crowd management when required.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with the public, staff, and clients.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements to the use of weapons and security procedures.
- Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, ensuring safety and security at all times.
Work Experience:
- New York State armed security guard license
- HR-218 NYPD
- Proven experience with NYC law enforcement required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college education or relevant training preferred.
- Ability to remain calm, decisive, and professional in high-stress situations.
- Familiarity with firearms safety and use.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand or walk for extended periods, and lift heavy objects as needed
- Reliable, responsible, and detail-oriented with a commitment to safety and service.
Job Type: Temporary
Pay: $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 60 per week

Experience:
- Law enforcement: 6 years (Required)
License/Certification:
