Simmons Gun Repair is looking for an entry level gunsmith who wants to be part of a great team of gunsmiths. Simmons Gun Repair services and customizes firearms of all types, and is a well established shop with almost 80 years of history. We are looking for individuals who aspire to be experienced and professional gunsmiths.
Responsibilities:
- Repair firearms to factory specifications using hand tools and machines, such as grinders, drills, rotary tools, disk sanders, lathes, mills, and other types of equipment.
- Troubleshoot firearm issues with customers via telephone and email; repair and replace firearms pursuant to company policies and procedures.
- Perform refinishing work including hot salt bluing, parkerizing, spray coatings, and wood operations.
- Disassemble, perform work, and assemble firearms without causing minor/major damage.
- Fit and install parts including stocks, triggers, cylinders, and barrels.
- Test fire firearms to ensure proper function, accuracy, and reliability.
- Maintain firearms safety at all times.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Provide courteous and efficient customer service and answer inquiries related to gunsmithing.
- Attending armorers courses and other firearms training courses
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Associate of Occupational Studies degree specializing in Gunsmithing (or similar)
- In-depth knowledge of firearms, their components, and cycle of operations
- Proficient in using gunsmithing tools and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and precision in workmanship
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Good communication skills and ability to interact with customers
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- Customer service experience.
- Experience working as a gunsmith in a retail or customer service environment.
- Currently an active shooter and reloader by hobby or by trade.

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
