Psychotherapist
The Psychotherapist is responsible for providing psychotherapy and other treatment services that affirm clients’ strengths, broaden their problem-solving abilities, and increase their self-knowledge. The therapist is also responsible to ensure that appropriate documentation is completed that is required for billing and coding, and acts as a mentor and leader to newer staff and master’s level students.
Key Job Activities:
• Conducts psychotherapeutic and other clinical treatment sessions for individuals, families, and groups.
• Completes all required case records and statistical reporting documentation within specified time frames.
• Conducts home visits when clinically appropriate. • Provides direct service for 70% of work hours.
• Facilitates consultation and outreach to assure the provision of holistic treatment. • Documents all services provided in a timely manner. • Participates in ongoing community resource development.
• Monitors treatment plan service delivery as it relates to the internal service providers. • Performs evaluation for suicide, violence, and case management needs.
• Advocates for and with patients and families in utilizing resources and services. • Engages patients therapeutically to help them learn healthy aspects of interpersonal social skills, hygiene and grooming and teamwork in social settings.
• Performs individual psychotherapy based on an identified theoretical model (cognitive, behavioral, psychodynamic, interpersonal, or other).
• Conducts crisis therapy, family therapy, and group psychotherapy.
• Conducts clinical supervision.
• Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Education:
- Masters in Social Work, Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Marital Family Therapy or related behavioral health program that is a license eligible degree.
Minimum Work Experience:
• Possesses exceptional interpersonal skills
- Must be culturally competent.
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus
- Experience in EPIC and MEDITECH software systems preferred.
Required Licenses, Certificates, Registrations:
- LSW, LCSW, LPC, LCPC or LMFT preferred.
