The Early Childhood Resource Center (ECRC) is recruiting for an Early Childhood Home Visiting Specialist in Akron, OH. This position advances the mission of the ECRC by providing direct services to families in their home. In this position, the Home Visitor will promote early literacy; conduct home visits to support parents to prepare their child for Kindergarten; build relationships with area schools and childcare centers; promote SPARK (Supporting Partnerships to Assure Ready Kids) at school and community events; and lead group activities with SPARK families.
Qualifications:
Strong interest in, and personal passion for early literacy and encouraging children and families to gain skills that will ensure a successful transition into the public school environment. Strong communication and interaction skills and the ability to relate to people of all ages. The ability to communicate honestly and respectfully. A high degree of flexibility, patience, and tolerance, and the ability to function well in a variety of social contexts and environments. The ability to schedule and organize meetings, a proven record of self-motivation and initiative, a strong ability to follow through on commitments, and an exceptional attendance record. Computer entry to compile data for each SPARK child. Link SPARK families as needed to community resources. Create and implement individual goals per each SPARK child.
Must have own reliable vehicle and possess a valid driver's license and proof of car insurance. A high school degree required, an associate degree or higher preferred. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required.
