Position Title: Machinist: Manual: Strong Mechanical Aptitude
Position Summary:
1st and 2nd Shift Manual machinists – experience with Vertical turning Lathe’s (VTL’s), Horizontal Boring Mills a plus. Must be able to setup and adjust machine controls to produce finished products within .001” tolerance. Pay based on experience.
Sets up and operates multiple machines to machine steel castings. Reads blueprints and or work instructions for specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, tooling instructions on holding devices, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cuts, and cutting tools. Performs layout work piece for proper alignment & scribes reference lines on work piece to lay out interrelated surfaces, lengths, and depths of cut. Diagnoses machine problems, positions and secures tools in holder, lifts work piece manually or with hoist, and positions and secures casting in holding device, machine table, chuck, centers, or fixture. Sets specified rotation speed, feed rate, and depth of cut, and positions tool in relation to work piece
Performs a daily preventative maintenance on machine before operating. Performs all tasks and duties assigned in a safe, timely, highly productive and efficient manner, following ISO and Sivyer procedures and processes where applicable.

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must be a qualified Machinist and possess appropriate educational background and/or demonstrated experience working in manufacturing environment highly desired. Preference in employment, promotions and transfers will be given to those with previous experience, good attendance and work history.
