Responsible for providing patients with the necessary financial guidance and assistance needed. This position is responsible for administering the financial assistance program. Works effectively and cooperatively within the workplace. Location/Department specific tasks and competencies may apply. Salary Range: $19.69/hr - $28.56/hr DOE Skagit Regional Health offers a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental, vision, 457b/401a (retirement), long term disability, sick time, and paid time off to all employees working 20 or more hours per week.
Environmental Factors -
Essential Functions Assist patient/families with billing, service and payment questions. Accurately receipt patient payments on a timely basis in accordance with the cash handling policy. Assist private pay patients with financial guidance on procedures requiring a deposit or financial assistance. Works outstanding private pay accounts receivables. Works unapplied co-pay report as necessary. Educate patient/family on external financial resources. Establish patient financial payment arrangements in accordance with practice guidelines. Prepare and utilize reports. Maintain accurate patient information. Facilitate collection procedures per established policy and guidelines. Maintain ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office (Outlook) and department specific software applications to perform work. Communicate effectively and cooperatively in the workplace. Actively contribute to the achievement of Quality Improvement and Lean Process Improvement activities. Complete all mandatory learning requirements in a timely manner. Maintain current licensure and/or certification as required. Attend and actively participate in all department, team and/or committee meetings. Comply with all Skagit Regional Health, department and location specific policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee.
Minimum Physical Requirements -
Education High School diploma or GED required.

Experience/Training Minimum of one (1) year credit and collection experience required.
License/Certification None required.
Other Qualifications Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required. Must be able to effectively utilize Microsoft Office applications to perform work. Well developed problem solving and analytical skills required. Must be able to effectively prioritize workload amongst frequent interruptions with competing priorities. Knowledge of patient registration processes. Ability to coordinate work schedule with requirements of position (may include overtime and weekend work).
