Job Summary:
We are looking for an excellent leader taking primary responsibility to motivate and lead the factory to world class performance in safety, quality, delivery performance, cost competitiveness, and employee development while aligning with the SKF and the Americas business goals and strategies. SKF in Sumter, S.C. is a world-class manufacturing site with new line design and installation of state-of-the-art equipment and handling systems. SKF offers solutions around the rotating shaft, including bearings, seals, lubrication management, condition monitoring and maintenance services. The SKF Sumter, SC sites played an integral role in helping Mars Rover collect rock and regolith samples on the planet’s surface.
Responsibilities Include But Not Limited to:
- Leadership to drive the improvements and targets in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Environment and Working Climate.
- Create, deploy, and achieve Activity Plans for the factory to meet targets, KPIs and deployment of policies.
- Implement SKF Production System and engagement of all associates to continuously improve the performance and operational result of the factory.
- Deployment of lean and six sigma tools to continuous improvement, eliminate waste, improve efficiency and flow throughout the factory.
- Foster positive culture, engagement and working environment and people development.
- Proactively support business opportunities, execute the launch of new products.
- Manage the capacity and launch of new channels, equipment, and capabilities in the factory.
- Ensure that all SKF requirements concerning Health & Safety, environmental and legal regulations are followed.
- Follow, support, and implement the SKF code of conduct and policies.
Job Requirements:
- US defense contractor (requires US citizenship or Green card).
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering.
- Proven track record and at least 7 years of experience in manufacturing leadership position.
- Experience as a People First leader who prioritizes team development.
- Experience in successful implementation of Lean Manufacturing or SKF Production system.
- Understanding of molding and machining processes is desired.
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written, is essential.
