The Opportunity
I’m partnering with a global healthcare manufacturing organisation operating in a highly regulated environment to appoint a Supervisor, Quality Control. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys balancing people leadership, lab operations, and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
The position sits within the Quality function and has direct responsibility for leading a QC laboratory team, ensuring testing activities are executed compliantly, on time, and in line with production demands.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you’ll be responsible for both day-to-day QC operations and developing a high-performing team:
- Lead and supervise the Quality Control team, setting clear priorities and expectations
- Plan and coordinate QC testing activities in line with weekly production schedules
- Ensure timely testing of raw materials, components, in-process samples, finished products, stability, and validation samples
- Perform and review laboratory testing as required
- Review, approve, and update controlled documentation relevant to QC activities
- Actively support investigations into deviations, OOS/OOT results, product complaints, and process issues
- Drive timely completion of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs)
- Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, and other site functions to ensure smooth operations
- Ensure safe handling of regulated and hazardous materials and maintain compliance with site safety and exposure requirements
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members, fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement
- Lead daily team huddles and communicate progress against site KPIs
- Manage overtime planning and ensure appropriate reporting and approvals
- Maintain strong standards around housekeeping, organisation, and laboratory discipline
What They’re Looking For
This role would suit someone who enjoys being close to the lab while also leading people:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- ~10 years’ experience in Quality Control or analytical laboratory environments
- Prior supervisory or people-management experience strongly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of cGMP laboratory operations and analytical instrumentation
- Confident interpreting analytical data and making quality-driven decisions
- Comfortable working in regulated manufacturing environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and coach teams
- Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
Working Environment
