YOUR DAY TO DAY AS A BSA INVESTIGATOR
As a BSA Investigator at SkyOne Federal Credit Union, your day-to-day responsibilities will involve conducting investigations on potentially suspicious activities, analyzing data for anomalies, and preparing reports for regulatory agencies. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A BSA INVESTIGATOR
As an experienced BSA Investigator at SkyOne Federal Credit Union, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Credit Union's Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti Money Laundering (AML) Program. Your day-to-day tasks will include transaction monitoring, conducting Know Your Customer (KYC) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews, timely filing of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs), and investigating alerts and cases related to potential suspicious activities. You will also be involved in developing new procedures for BSA compliance, liaising with external audit firms and regulatory agencies, and ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements. Your role will be integral in maintaining the integrity and security of our members' financial transactions.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years of related experience of financial experience: working in financial industry operations, financial crimes.
- Minimum three years of BSA and financial crime investigations experience.
- A college degree preferred, but not required in lieu of similar or equal experience.
- Possess BSA/AML Certification or agree to obtain this certification.
- High-Level knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and Sanctions compliance, and industry best practices.
- High-Level knowledge of The Cannabis Control Act, Cannabis Regulation Act and Compassionate Use Act
- High-level analytical skills to produce and follow leads, develop complete and through pictures of suspicious activity and identify new trends in fraudulent behavior.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to document all aspects of the BSA/AML program and related filings, e.g., memos, SAR narratives).
- Strong detail orientation and organizational skills.
- Capacity to learn technical subject areas.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects at one time.
- Ability to work independently with minor supervision.
- Strong and proficient PC skills and have extensive knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent interpersonal skills required.
- Must be able to quickly process information to make informed decisions.
- A high degree of confidentiality.
