PETROLEUM TRANSPORTATION DRIVER
JOB SUMMARY
Operates a tank wagon and/or transport to deliver petroleum products to commercial and residential customers. Responsible for the proper and efficient completion of assigned duties and operation of assigned vehicle.
FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate, load, and unload tank wagon or transport with petroleum products, while adhering to all company policies and state/federal regulations.
- Transport petroleum loads over required route to proper destination, observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Chock rear wheels of truck and trailer before any unloading takes place. Remove chocks before driving away from delivery.
- Complete and transmit all paperwork in compliance with established company procedures.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness. May include handwashing and waxing.
- Perform daily maintenance and perform safety inspections on trucks, equipment and/or facilities per company policy.
- Report any equipment malfunctions and/or concerns to Skyview Energy Plant Manager.
- Possess knowledge of, and the ability to use, loading arms and card readers at rack facilities, auxiliary pumps for loading and unloading of vehicle, spill kits and fire extinguisher.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, extra shifts and/or hours to ensure business needs are met.
- Accurately complete required documentation (bills of lading, invoices, driver logs, mileage records, reports, etc.), either manually or via computer.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Develop and maintain a professional and respectful relationship with company, colleagues, and coworkers.
- Must have good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions and take direction.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Valid North Carolina Commercial Class C Driver’s License, with hazardous material and tanker endorsement required.
- Clear and safe driving record.
- Must meet Department of Transportation physical and medical requirements, pass substance abuse screening and agree to random substance abuse screening.
- Lift/carry 50 pounds occasionally, pushing/pulling a maximum force of 75 pounds; Safe Lifting criteria, floor to knuckle 50 pounds, shoulder to overhead 50 pounds; PDC Level, heavy.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide all customers with prompt and courteous service.
- Promote and support company image.
- Adhere to all city, county, and state regulations.
- Follow posted work schedule unless a change in schedule is arranged with Skyview Energy Plant Manager.
- Remain familiar with company policies and procedures.
- Keep Plant Manager informed of any operating discrepancies.
- Properly post and verify all hours worked daily.
- Work in a “SAFE” manner always and report accidents immediately.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $22.50 per hour
