What are the responsibilities and job description for the Restaurant and Bar Supervisor position at Skyview Los Alamos?
The Restaurant & Bar Supervisor oversees the front of house operations of Norman and the Hotel Pool. The Supervisor ensures brand standards of service, food & beverage, and guest experience are consistently met. They train all FOH staff, including ongoing education, both initially and over the course of their career at Norman, to ensure proper development and service knowledge. They work with the Bar Supervisor and General Manager to facilitate communication and teamwork between all Skyview departments with the end goal of improving the guest experience and long term success of the business. They will work directly with the events manager to ensure that all F&B events are properly executed to ensure the highest guest satisfaction and profitability for the company. The restaurant supervisor will work with the onsite management team as well as Nomada management to ensure company goals and standards are met. This position reports to the General Manager and the Food & Beverage Director.
Responsibilities:
To utilize and update existing training manuals, checklists and other written documents for a detailed and ongoing training training program with all FOH staff.
To oversee the floor and pool service including California wage and hour compliance
To work with the GM and the chef ensure ordering is consistent
To ensure employees work productively and develop professionally
Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations
Ensure all guest-facing areas and surfaces are clean and tidy. This pertains to the bar, restaurant, patio, front of kitchen and pool deck
Work the the event manager on day of execution and oversight of all F&B events
Schedule restaurant FOH staff according to business needs
To communicate issues or problems and possible solutions to the GM or Nomada management where appropriate
Duties:
Monthly wine and bar inventory to ensure accuracy and proper oversight
Keep the POS and Opentable up to date, monitor and audit
Make sure tasting notes are up to date and distributed to the staff in a timely manner. Regular quizzing and follow up
Regular staff training, both day-to-day and scheduled training
Prepare for and manage special services including Holidays, Restaurant Month, promotions, etc.
Lead team communication within the F&B department, including leading a daily line-up
Assist GM with hiring FOH staff
Assist GM Credit card reconciliations
Assist GM with necessary property maintenance
Attend weekly F&B meeting and monthly F&B meeting
Qualifications:
Must meet the age requirements to legally serve alcoholic beverages in the state of California.
Must possess a valid Responsible Beverage Service certification
Must possess a valid Food Handlers Card
Previous applicable experience in a restaurant environment
Must be able to stand, reach, stoop, bend, lift, and clean during various activities throughout shift.
As needed, must be able to lift products or supplies up to 50 lbs.
Submission of satisfactory proof of your identity and your legal authorization to work in the United States.
