Job Title: Accounting Specialist – Accounts Receivable
Location: Stevens Point, WI - Corporate Office
Starting Salary: $42,824.35 - $47,106.79 (Salary commensurate with experience)
Position Description:
Skyward is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team. As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial transactions. Your attention to detail and strong organizational skills will contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our accounting department.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing customer accounts, processing invoices, and maintaining accurate records of payments received. You will also be communicating with customers and others within the organization to resolve any payment issues, ensuring timely collections.
What you will do:
Manage customer accounts and ensure accuracy of financial information.
Process and verify invoices, ensuring all necessary documentation is included.
Prepare and distribute monthly statements to customers.
Record customer payments accurately and timely in the accounting system.
Communicate with customers to resolve payment discrepancies and issues.
Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to address customer concerns.
Perform reconciliations of accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
Prepare and enter journal entries as appropriate.
Prepare reports/spreadsheets/reconciliations for annual external audit.

Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office.
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team structure.
Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Thrive in a fast-paced environment that meets tight deadlines.
A two or four-year degree or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skill, and abilities will be considered.
