What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Controller position at Skywire Networks?
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team in Brooklyn. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on professional with a strong technical accounting background and experience in implementing new accounting and finance software. The Financial Controller will report directly to the CFO and will be responsible for all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the financial accounting and reporting process, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and requirements
- Manage the month-end and year-end close process, including preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports
- Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets
- Manage the implementation of new accounting and finance software, ensuring a seamless transition with existing systems and integration with existing ones
- Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
- Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to improve financial performance
- Work closely with senior management to support strategic decision-making, providing financial insights and analysis as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA certification preferred
- 5 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting
- Strong knowledge of technical accounting principles and practices
- Experience in implementing new accounting and finance software
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
