AS A MEDICAL FRONT OFFICE COORDINATOR/MEDICAL ASSISTANT, YOUR DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Providing a welcoming environment for patients as they enter and exit the clinic
  • Professionally assist all patients and team members with the flow of the front office
  • Greet patients, answer questions and provide assistance as needed
  • Ensure patient documentation is completed appropriately
  • Proactively reach out to patients to confirm appointments and schedule new visits
  • Keep patient records up to date in EMR system
  • Assist in tracking office supply inventory
  • Take ownership to ensure office equipment is properly maintained
  • Quickly process patient documents between multiple platforms
  • Ensure ongoing cleanliness of exam rooms and surrounding areas
  • Upload test results, compliance data or DME supplies as needed.
  • After patients have checked in MA’s greet patients in a friendly and professional manner, and then guide patients to the appropriate exam rooms.
  • Obtain and record patients’ complaint(s), medical histories, medications, vitals, meaningful use and other information for medical records.
  • Download or obtain test results for provider to review at each patient visit as required and in a timely manner. Test results may include but are not limited to:
  • CPAP/BIPAP compliance from Encore Anywhere or ResMed (from current CPAP users)
  • Ensure cleanliness of patient exam rooms and surrounding areas before and after each patient visit.
  • If provider recommends PAP pressure changes for the patient, login to Encore Anywhere and initiate changes as directed
  • Prepare DOT and FAA letters
  • General knowledge of insurance authorization and eligibility requirements.
  • Schedule appointments as needed in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Understand and practice regulatory standards and organization policies and procedures including, but not limited to: OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and patient care policies and procedures.
  • Comply with Meaningful Use (or MIPS) requirements.

SKILLS & BACKGROUND YOU'LL NEED:

  • Strong knowledge of EMR
  • Proven customer/patient support experience.
  • Ability to manage your time effectively
  • Desire to collaborate for the benefit of your team
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrates active listening
  • Prioritize tasks effectively
  • General knowledge of insurance authorizations and terminology
  • Appointment scheduling
  • Knowledge of HIPAA

OTHER INFORMATION: High school diploma or GED. Applicant will be required to pass a background check. Requires infrequent lifting, not more than 20 pounds (with help) and/or carrying objects weighing up to 20 pounds. May be prolonged periods of sitting; moderate amount of walking, stooping and standing. It is necessary to view and type on computer screens.SCMT is a smoke free workplace.
