What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host position at Sloane's?
The Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting and welcoming guests, managing reservations, seating guests, and maximizing the selling potential of the space. We’re looking for a polished, high-energy Speakeasy Bar. The Host is to be the first point of contact for our nightlife guests. This role sets the vibe for the evening, managing reservations, welcoming guests, and keeping the flow of the room moving smoothly.
What You’ll Do
- Greeting guests and managing the door with confidence and professionalism
- Check reservations and coordinate seating/standing room flow
- Communicate guest arrivals with bartenders and management
- Maintain a clean, organized host stand and entry area
- Provide menus and guide guests through the experience
- Support guest needs and elevate the overall nightlife atmosphere
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in nightlife, bars, lounges, or upscale hospitality
- Strong people skills and the ability to stay calm in high-volume settings
- Familiarity with reservation systems (Resy preferred)
- Availability for nights, weekends, and late hours
- Professional appearance and upbeat attitude
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 20 lbs. without assistance
- Requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, grasping, writing, and repetitive motions
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, including full shifts
- Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods when required
