Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It (and We Hope You Do!):

This partnership is a two-part adventure, starting with setting the gold standard and then maintaining it with ongoing, compassionate care.

Phase I: Crafting the Gold Standard – Program Development & Protocol

This is where your expertise shines in building the ultimate sloth care blueprint:

• Quarantine Quest: Help us design an APHIS-compliant quarantine protocol that's a warm, welcoming, and ultra-safe haven for our new sloth arrivals. We're talking meticulously planned housing, attentive daily monitoring, proactive preventative medicine, and environmental enrichment that makes their acclimatization period stress-free and enriching.
• The Sloth Wellness Master Plan: Let's develop a comprehensive veterinary care plan that covers every facet of sloth health. Think top-tier preventative medicine (tailored vaccinations, precise deworming, clever parasite control), initial and routine health checks that catch everything, ready-for-anything emergency procedures, and husbandry guidelines specifically crafted for our amazing sloths in their managed care setting.
• Gourmet Sloth Cuisine: Become our culinary consultant! We need your expert dietary recommendations, including specific browse plant suggestions. Our sloths currently enjoy a delightful menu of local fresh leafy greens, various veggies, hydroponically grown spring mix and kales, tropical almond, copperleaf, lorocco vine, malabar spinach, papaya, and cecropia leaves (all grown right here!). We'll also lean on your wisdom for perfect nutritional supplementation and preparation for all life stages, from playful youngsters to wise elders.
• Enrichment Extravaganza: Let's brainstorm and implement innovative behavioral and environmental enrichment strategies that truly boost our sloths' well-being and keep them engaged and happy within their encounter home.
• Regulatory Royalty: You'll be our guide in ensuring every single protocol and practice not only meets but exceeds USDA APHIS regulations for exhibiting animals, along with all other relevant federal, state, and local animal welfare laws. Compliance isn't just a box to check; it's our promise to these incredible animals.

Phase II: Ongoing Adventures in Sloth Health – Medical Services & Treatment

Once the blueprint is set, it's time for hands-on care and continuous support:

• Quarantine TLC: You'll provide direct medical services during that crucial quarantine period, including thorough initial physical examinations, precise diagnostic testing when needed, and compassionate treatment for any ailments that might pop up.
• Everyday Heroes: Beyond quarantine, you'll be our go-to for ongoing veterinary care, from routine check-ups that keep them tip-top, to preventative treatments, and any medical interventions necessary to ensure their vibrant health.
• Medication Maestro: You'll skillfully prescribe and oversee the administration of all necessary medications, ensuring our sloths receive exactly what they need, when they need it.

Phase III: Your Wisdom, Always On-Call – Consultative & On-Call Services

Your guidance is invaluable, whether you're here in person or just a call away:

• Remote Recommendations: We'll frequently seek your timely over-the-phone recommendations and guidance for husbandry curiosities, those little minor health concerns, and fascinating behavioral observations that inevitably arise. Your insights will be our first line of defense!
• Emergency Lifeline: Knowing you're available for urgent remote consultation in emergency situations outside of regular visit schedules will provide us immense peace of mind.
• Sloth Ambassador Training: Help us empower our dedicated animal care staff! We'd love your assistance in developing basic training on sloth health monitoring, sharing your husbandry best practices, and equipping our team with essential emergency first aid knowledge.

We have extensive resources of our own, as well as a team of experts who can help from the sloths native countries from rescue facilities of which we sponsor.
