Job Summary
Smalley has an immediate opening for a Mechatronics Design Engineer! This position is responsible for improving existing production processes by implementing automation using mechanical, computer and/or electronic technology to develop solutions to problems.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct simulation and modeling of engineering systems
- Develop technical methods or processes
- Study the viability of current and new mechatronic equipment
- Design engineering systems for the automation of industrial tasks
- Design electromechanical equipment or systems
- Create mechanical design documents for parts, assemblies, or finished products
- Design, develop, or implement control circuits or programs for electromechanical systems
- Maintain technical project files, maintain operational records or records systems
- Implement or test design solutions
- Research engineering applications of emerging technologies
- Create mechanical models and tolerance analyses to simulate mechatronic design concepts
- Publish engineering reports documenting design details or qualification test results
- Recommend technical design or process changes to improve efficiency, quality, or performance
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis
