Landscape Construction Laborer

As a Landscape Construction Laborer, your primary responsibility is to perform a range of physical tasks essential for the successful completion of landscape construction projects. You'll be expected to operate various tools and equipment, contributing to the achievement of specified project objectives.

Job Duties:

• Prepare jobsites prior to project commencement
• Operate a variety of tools and equipment, including chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, shovels, drills, and more
• Conduct daily preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, including inspections, lubrication, and cleaning
• Plant and maintain garden beds and lawns
• Dig ditches or trenches
• Perform land clearing activities
• Mix, pour, and spread concrete
• Assist in the construction of walkways, fences, decks, and posts
• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment required for construction projects
• Transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, dollies, and manual lifting
• Support the supervisor with job-related tasks
• Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and specifications for work activities
• Maintain appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
• Adhere to company policies and regulations
• Comply with local health and safety laws and regulations

Requirements:

• Prior experience in the landscape/construction industry
• Competence in safely operating equipment and tools
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong time management skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
• Knowledge of materials, methods, tools, and equipment relevant to landscape/construction practices
• Capability to work both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
• Physical fitness to stand, walk, crouch, and carry out strenuous tasks for extended periods
• Preferred candidates will possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving record

Work Conditions:

• Operation of hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, and materials
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout a work shift
• Work in a fast-paced environment
• Manual dexterity and stamina are required
• Regular interaction with heavy equipment and other vehicles
• Outdoor work in varying conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold
• Flexible working hours, including occasional weekend work
